Our High Country members offer a variety of attractions: from Native American arts & crafts to geocaching and fossil hunting to local farmers’ market and dutch-oven cooking. Take time. Venture off the blacktop highway and onto gravel roads. Rediscover the beauty and bounty of this scenic area.

Stop by Deadhorse Creek Market and enjoy scrumptious freshly picked garden vegetables and fruits. While you’re there; pick up one or our home-made pies; taste a sample of Ava’s jellies and jams made from our local wild plums, hand-gathered rose hips, choke cherries, wild grape and more. Deadhorse Creek Market  also offers local handmade gifts to take home and enjoy.

Explore an old west cowtown at High Plains Homestead which comes alive on the windswept prairie of northwest Nebraska. Spend the day fossil hunting, mountain biking, exploring the area Badlands. Getting hungry, try the great cowboy cooking at the Homestead’s Drifter’s Cookshack.

Take home authentic Lakota crafted items. Singing Horse Trading Post offers the visitor an insight into Native American arts and crafts. Visitors can find beautiful handcrafted jewelry, rawhide, leather and beading supplies, drums, dream catchers, Star quilts and Pendelton Blankets and much more. The post offers tipi camping, horseback riding and a thorough knowledge of the reservation culture and activities.
