You are encouraged to stay and visit with other people at our market and  play a
game of horseshoes or checkers if you like. We look forward to meeting and getting
acquainted with you.

      Bring a friend and tour our gardens.  This type of direct marketing offers a great
opportunity for us to meet the consumers of our products as well as giving you the
opportunity to actually meet the people who are producing your food!

     Our market season begins the third Thursday in June and continues through the
third Thursday of October.  We aren't always home so please call 308-432-5266 for an
appointment.   We will be at the Dawes County Courthouse Farmer's Market on
Saturday mornings from 8 a.m. until 12 noon beginning June 1 until October 30.  
      
      Also watch for the  hayrack parked at the junction of Highway 20 and
Hawthorne Road.   This is a serve-yourself market and you can drop your payments
in the box we have provided.

     
DEADHORSE  CREEK  MARKET
     Welcome to Deadhorse Creek Market.  We are a Farmer's Market offering a wide
variety of farm fresh products and country crafts.  Bill and Ava Hawthorn are the
fourth generation on our family farm, where we raise cattle, sheep, wheat, and alfalfa.
 Ava is a master gardener and a master canner!

     Located along Deadhorse Creek,
just 8 miles west of Chadron,
Nebraska, we invite you to take an
evening drive and see deer, turkey,
and other wildlife along with the
ever-changing farm landscape as you
come out.  Turn south off Hwy 20 at
our sign and go 1/2 mile south and
1/4 mile east and you will be at our
market site.
     We feature a 1/2 acre chemical-free garden with almost every vegetable that will
grow in Northwest Nebraska available in season. You are welcome to stroll through
our garden and sip a glass of free iced tea as you sit and relax in our flower and
water gardens.  Cut flowers will also be available to grace your table as you enjoy
your meals with our farm fresh products.
You may complete your meal with a
wide variety of homemade jam, jellies
and honey.
     Our country features craft items by
talented local artisans. These items
would make a welcome addition to
your home as well as wonderful gifts.
